GENERAL INFORMATION FOR CULTIVATED EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL:
Of all the essential oils, the aroma of Eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus globulus) is probably the most well recognized aroma because of its wide spread use for treating respiratory problems.
The two main components in eucalyptus essential oil used for treating respiratory problems are: alpha-terpineol and eucalyptol.
Our Eucalyptus essential oil by Artisan Aromatics is also effective at treating sore muscles and joints.
Because of the powerful aroma, many people use this essential oil for odor removal.
It has been used as a hand cleaner, treating allergies, wound healing, and soap making.
Eucalyptus essential oil can even be found in some mouth washes. When mixed with a carrier oil, eucalyptus can also be used as a moisturizer for the hair.
This conventionally grown eucalyptus from Australia is steam distilled from the fresh leaves of the Blue Gum tree.
This species of tree ranks as one of the tallest in the world.
Be aware that this is a powerful oil with strong effects, so we suggest you use it in small amounts.
Keep in mind that this oil can have a strong drying effect, which can be aggravated if your nasal tissues are already dry.
Eucalyptus globulus is the species chosen by many manufactures of cold medications because of its unique properties of opening up the airways.
