GENERAL INFORMATION FOR YLANG YLANG EXTRA ESSENTIAL OIL:
Our Ylang Ylang Extra essential oil by Artisan Aromatics is Pronounced EE-lang EE-lang.
Ylang Ylang Extra essential oil (Crananga odorata var. genuina) comes from a unique star shaped flower grown from a tropical tree in Madagascar. For those who enjoy essential oils with floral aromas, this has to be at the top of your list.
The very sweet euphoric and uplifting aroma produced by Ylang Ylang is unmatched. Inhaling this fragrance will cause your anxieties and fears to melt away and is an excellent choice when dealing with a stressful situation. Many consider this essential oil to be one of the best essential oils with aphrodisiac properties because of its ability to induce warmth and sensuality.
Ylang Ylang Extra essential oil comes in different grades, with Extra being the most potent and therapeutic grade available, created during the first hour of distillation.
This is the grade preferred by the perfume industry.
Harvesters pick the flowers at night because this is when the scent is the most potent. They only pick the flowers that are fully matured. For this reason and because of the amount of flowers it takes to create the essential oil, the “Extra” grade is rare and expensive.
Look out for those who sell Ylang Ylang Extra essential oil inexpensively and claim it is the Extra grade. It is probably a lesser grade or mixed with a lesser grade. These grades include: Ylang Ylang I, II, III, Complete and Extra.
Many cosmetic and beauty products use ylang ylang extra essential oil as a main ingredient because of its powerful and pleasant fragrance. For hundreds of years, people have used ylang ylang for religious and wedding ceremonies. In Indonesia, the flowers are spread on the bed of newlyweds.
