GENERAL INFORMATION FOR GERANIUM ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OIL:
When most people think of Geraniums, they think of the pretty flowering plants sold in most nurseries and garden centers. Even though these flowers are beautiful, they are not appropriate for making essential oil because they have very little scent.
Botanically, these plants are usually known as Pelargonium x hortum. Our geranium organic essential oil comes from Pelargonium graveolens, which has a lovely sweet floral aroma.
Geranium organic essential oil is a great choice for easing stress, anxiety, and tension.
Geranium has been used for centuries and even today, this species of geranium is widely used in health and beauty products including creams, massage oils, insect repellents, soaps, and perfumes.
Geranium essential oil has been well researched and is known to have antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.
According to a study published in Complementary Medicine Research, Geranium essential oil has a compound called Pelargonium sidoides that is effective at alleviating the frequency and severity of patients’ cough symptoms. But the study does go on to say that additional research is needed in this area.
Rose essential oil is extremely expensive. Many people use geranium organic essential oil because it is much less expensive and has similar aromatic properties.
